چکیده

Introduction In MR angiography (MRA), techniques are mainly divided into contrast-enhanced MRA and non-contrast MRA. Various non-contrast MRA techniques are clinically useful and widely used in routine examinations, such as 3D TOF [1] in intracranial region, phase shift [2] for flow quantification, arterial spin labeling [3,4] in pulmonary vessels [5,6], and balanced SSFP [7] in bright blood cardiac cine. In this paper, flow-spoiled fresh-blood imaging (FS-FBI) [8] as a non-contrast peripheral MRA technique is described in a technical format in regards to its clinical utility to distinguish arterial flow from venous flow.

بهینه سازی نگاره های MRA مغز با استفاده از ماده کنتر است زا در میدان مغناطیسی 1.5 تسلا

Background and purpose: Selection of suitable parameters for brain MRA requires accurate measures, because the image quality depends on the location of arteries, veins and also the velocity differences of blood, taking into account the low blood flow in small veins and arteries, use of paramagnetic contrast media is recommended. Hence, in present study, we investigated the imaging optimizatio...

Non Contrast MRA of the Hand in Patients with Raynauds disease using Flow Sensitized Dephasing Prepared SSFP

Introduction Raynauds disease is vasospastic disorder of the digital arteries. 3D contrast-enhanced (CE) MRA is increasingly utilized for patients with Raynauds. Safety concerns with contrast administration in patients with renal insufficiency has led to a renaissance of non-contrast MRA (NC-MRA). NC-MRA strategies employing 3D half-Fourier FSE [1] or SSFP [2] have shown great promise but vario...

Comparison of different techniques for non-contrast –enhanced and contrast-enhanced Magnetic Resonance Angiography of the Carotid arteries

Purpose: Since the introduction of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in clinical routine vascular imaging always has been a challenge. Early MR angiography (MRA) techniques were based on intrinsic contrast mechanisms related to blood (non CE techniques). The development of contrast enhanced (CE) MRA techniques using gadolinium based contrast agents (GBCA) substantially changed vascular MR applic...

Non-contrast enhanced MR angiography: physical principles.

Noncontrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (NCE-MRA) methods have been demonstrated in anatomies throughout the body. Previously established NCE-MRA techniques suffered from long scan times or low sensitivity. Advances in hardware and software have made NCE-MRA scan times clinically feasible. Recent concerns over the safety of gadolinium-based contrast material combined with the expens...

Non-contrast MR Angiography

Figure 1. NC-MRA (inflow inversion recovery) shows normal arterial vasculature of the lower extremities. PA, popliteal artery; AT, anterior tibial arteries; PT, posterior tibial arteries; and PER, peroneal arteries. Techniques for performing non-contrast MR angiography (NC-MRA) have been available since the introduction of MR imaging. These techniques were largely displaced by contrast-enhanced...
